Keep your dog safe and happy!
As soon as we got Toby we got a dog camera because I like to be able to check on him when we are out of the house or in bed etc I think it is great for peace of mind. This is especially true for new puppies but even in general, it is reassuring to know he is ok!
When we moved to our new house I asked for feedback on the Furbo dog camera, on my Instagram page. Everyone loved it! So I bought the original model linked CLICK HERE:
This review is based on this model but there has since been a 360 upgraded model released.
The prices have been fluctuating between a large and small price difference between the two – I would prefer the 360 option but only if it isn’t priced substantially higher!
The ability to rotate sounds like a great option! However, depending on where you locate it, it probably wouldn’t make a huge difference if it is against a wall etc so for a lot of extra money – I would stick to the original model personally but it depends on what works best for you!
Depending on what room we leave Toby in, there are a couple of different positions where we place the camera but all are against a wall and the ‘fish eye’ aspect works really well so there is no great need to turn the camera.
The camera is more expensive than the other types we had previously but I must admit, it is because it is better. You get what you pay for at the end of the day!
I really like the following aspects –
-
- The 2-way microphone so you can speak to them at any time.
-
- The noise detection works so accurately, it can distinguish between barking and howling and sends notifications to let you know there may be a problem. I remember one time it said he was howling, which he never does – but it lets you replay the clip and he actually was!
-
- You can throw little biscuits out – it is SO cute watching him look for them and get excited
-
- Furbo Dog Nanny – £6.99 or £69 for some features mentioned, it gives you a summary video of their day which I love watching!
-
- Human detection works extremely well. Perfect for alerting you to intruders and has case studies on the website of all the times it has helped in terms of safety and security.
