Finally! My Oura Ring Review:
It is currently in the Amazon Prime scale so I fast tracked the blog plan!
A topic that is always ranking as super popular on my Instagram polls and people messaging me asking about it. I’ve had my ring for probably 18 months now so I wanted to give you my opinion! Hopefully it can help you decide on whether it is suitable for you.
If you haven’t heard of it before, it’s basically a smart ring that tracks your sleep, movement, stress, period cycles, and just overall wellbeing. I have the original model and honestly, I love it. There is a newer model out now with a few extra features, but even this first one has been so worth it.
What I love most is how low-maintenance it is. You just wear it like a normal ring — no chunky strap, no charging every five minutes (battery life is very good and fast to charge up) no awkward style choices. It looks cute, it doesn’t scream “fitness tech,” and it goes with any outfit. Honestly, I forget I’m even wearing it.
Compared to something like a WHOOP band — which I have & love too — I find the Oura ring much lower maintenance. WHOOP’s amazing for data but can be a bit intense and time consuming to track the habits properly. I personally don’t love wearing bands 24/7, but you have to for tracking — especially a downside with outfits or when going out. The Oura is just more feminine, simple, and discreet.
It tracks your sleep really well. Like, eerily accurate. It picks up on even the smallest movements in the night, and it gives you a proper sleep breakdown — REM, deep, light, how long it took you to fall asleep… all that good stuff.
And if you’re like me and love a bit of biohacking or cycle tracking, the Oura is amazing for that too. I use it to keep tabs on my period and hormone patterns, and it actually predicts changes in your cycle based on your body temp and recovery trends, which is so helpful. This links well with the likes of ‘Natural Cycles’ and similar etc. which I used for a period of time and it was excellent.
Also — stress and recovery tracking. I can literally feel when I’ve overdone it with stress, and the Oura usually backs it up with my HRV or resting heart rate changes. It’s like a quiet accountability partner that helps me stay on track with my health. Sounds a bit dramatic but I genuinely think it helps me avoid negative behaviours and take more time to do the positive impact ones!
If you’re into wellbeing, but don’t want anything too bulky or in-your-face, I 100% recommend the Oura Ring. Especially for women, I think it’s such a good balance between tech and style. And honestly, it’s just nice to have something that keeps you a bit more in tune with your body.

NEW FEATURE!
I honestly think this is SO SO clever – I’ve tested it myself and it works so well, even on drinks!
I have taken the below key information directly from Oura’s website as I didn’t want to misquote exactly how the AI works.
To log a meal, snack, or beverage, you can: Take a photo of your meal using your camera or camera roll (or write)
Powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI), Oura automatically detects food items in your meal and instantly delivers a detailed overview of its nutritional content.
Once analysed, Oura Advisor provides immediate feedback on nutritional choices, offering suggestions like simple swaps or small adjustments to help you make informed choices that work for your lifestyle.
Oura also provides a Nutrition Breakdown of each meal, showing estimated levels of the following nutritional aspects.
- Protein: Supports muscle repair and growth, boosts metabolism to aid in weight management, and promotes satiety to reduce hunger and overeating
- Fiber: Aids healthy digestion, helps regulate blood glucose, and promotes satiety and gut health
- Processing level: Gives insight into how refined or whole your meal is, which can impact satiety and nutrition density
- Added sugars: Reducing added sugars helps prevent glucose spikes followed by crashes, supports weight management, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease
- Total fats: Essential for hormone production and long-term energy, though types of fat can vary in impact
- Total carbs: One of your body’s main energy sources; carbs play an important part in activity and recovery as well as overall nutrition
Oura’s Meals feature simplifies tracking by showing whether your meals are low, moderate, or high in key areas like protein, fiber, and food processing — without calorie counting or strict targets. It’s designed to build awareness, not restriction, helping you make small, sustainable changes that support energy, sleep, and recovery. You’ll also see your meals on a 24-hour clock alongside your sleep and wake times, making it easier to spot how meal timing affects your overall health.
