Following on from my recent blog  ’The Best Start for 2023’  I wanted to recommend some Podcasts.  CLICK HERE TO VISIT BLOG:

I discussed the fact that they are a perfect way to de-stress and zone out from the chaos of the world for a little bit. You could even have them on as background noise while working and use them as a learning tool, self improvement helper or just total tune out and have a good belly laugh. I absolutely love the following 6 – sorry I couldn’t do just 5!

DECLICIOUSLY ELLA: WELLNESS WITH ELLA

This is probably the first podcast I properly invested myself into and I would regularly listen to this on my commute to work. I just find find it so fascinating and in terms of enjoying learning, this is great.

Heavily health related (which I love) Ella described the ‘five pillars of wellness’ as: sleep, mindfulness, hydration, exercise and eating plant-based foods. As I’ve said many times I am not even nearly a vegan but I appreciate the approach and health benefits so i thoroughly enjoying gaining as much information on the nutritional side of things either way. You don’t have to be vegan to have a vegan meal nor to enjoy learning from the podcast as the topics range so much.

I think I am naturally drawn to people who have passion and Ella really does which shows through the empire she has built since ill health in her early 20s that drove her to revolutionise the plant based industry. Definitely worth a listen if you are interested in any of the 5 pillars mentioned above – I find the podcast super informative and interesting!

DIARY OF A CEO: STEVE BARTLETT

This is by far my favourite podcast I’ve listened to so many and just love them because they are so varied. I absolutely love business so that was the main draw but there are so many other topics that are covered such as health/ psychology (another big passion of mine) and then also celebrities in different industries which are just super interesting as an insight in to that way of life.

This podcast is seamless and flows so well, I think his personality and manner works in terms of discussing serious topics and asking key questions without it feeling uncomfortable. I am constantly working on trying to learn more and improve myself and I just feel this podcasts ticks so many boxes as well as being genuinely entertaining. An absolute must.

GRACE BEVERLEY: WORKING HARD, HARDLY WORKING PODCAST

I first came across Grace via her book ‘Working Hard, Hardly Working’ which I mentioned on my blog ‘Books to Read 2023’ – CLICK HERE TO VISIT BLOG   I then saw Grace on Diary of a CEO (as above) which I hadn’t realised until then that it was the same person!

Grace is clearly so intelligent and has achieved so much so young but is also incredibly personable and funny. The type of person you know you could easily have a conversation with – the podcasts flow like friendly yet informative chats. Grace attended Cambridge and has 3 different businesses at only 23 – seriously impressive stuff. The podcast has a bit of a feminine and casual touch to it rather than super formal, which I do like as a change and think it is a great listen.

HIGHER PERFORMANCE: JAKE HUMPHREYS AND PROF. DAMIAN HUGHES.

Initially I assumed that most of these were sport related which is still of interest to me although perhaps not as much as some other podcast interviews – when I looked again I realised that there are a broader variety with a range of guests. The hosts are Jake Humphrey (who I associate with Sports related presenting personally) and Psychology Professor Damian Hughes.

I think having too many people can sometimes get a bit crowded but they seem to flow well and not speak over each other (which is so frustrating when this happens on podcasts!) Having two different perspectives and interests in the questions being asked gives a good variation in the conversation.  Definitely interesting anyway but especially so if you’re in to sports!

HAPPY PLACE: FEARNE COTTON

Such a great variety of people and I’ve always found Fearne so likeable as a person, I just really enjoy the podcast! There is a focus on happiness (somewhat unsurprising from the title) and what it means to people etc and touches on some deep topics which can be perfect depending on what kind of mood you are in!

I think the key indicator is how many guests there have been and how varied the types of people are – a great insight to all sorts of different ways of life. I really admire that flexibility and in general just think Fearne is one of those people you can’t not like?! Give it a go!

LUCKY YOU – I’VE ADDED A 6TH ONE FOR GOOD MEASURE!

THERAPY CROUCH: ABBEY CLANCY + PETER CROUCH

This is absolutely hilarious. The go-to for easy listening and genuinely laughing out loud. I’ve always loved Peter because I’m a Liverpool fan and already knew he was hilarious but the way they bounce of each other is just such good comedy. It’s really relatable too and I predict it will do SO well because it’s just good for so many reasons – you’ll have to listen to know exactly what I mean. Abbey’s humour is right up my street as well – I love them both. If you don’t want a deep or heavy podcast then this is absolutely where to start! A must listen!.
